Just finished the marathon BOM stitching of Vintage Miniature Sewing Machines which will be available at the Brisbane Craft and Quilt Show with Expertise Events late Oct. 100 hours in 2 weeks, so enjoyed stitching them that I will offer an extra one to Country Threads as a project for early next year.
Rewarded myself some time out on Sunday and drove over the border to the sweet little town of Bangalow, west of Byron Bay for their famous last Sunday of the month markets.
Managed to stitch while my girlfriend Margie drove. Finished the wings on the way down.
Since it was an early start, we immediately consumed a mountain sausage with native pepper and wild rosemary on a handmade bun, an organic coffee made on soy milk, finished off with some marvellous pumpkin/coconut slice baked in a banana leaf.
Missed the chocolate covered strawberries on a skewer, but bought oodles of fresh strawberries that I had for dinner at night, no I’m not thin.
Purchased the two trees I have wanted for so long, a Bay tree and a Kaffir lime, lots of herbs and two French lavender. So So pleased with myself but mental note to trim the Bay tree top off regularly as it grows to 30m. Neighbours will love it …
Shopped along the main street, finding some great design gifts at Aurora, ate a light lunch in air conditioned luxury at Utopia Café while watching the unique passing parade of well dressed to hippy chic (didn’t see a rat in the hair this trip).
